About the Release
Ancestro is a sprawling instrumental journey through heavy psychedelia, stoner rock and doom, built from fuzzed-out guitar, rolling bass and expansive rhythms. The album moves patiently through hypnotic riffs, spacious passages and progressive detours, gradually building from its heavy rhythmic core into more cosmic and exploratory territory. With all six pieces unfolding at their own pace, the record has an immersive, almost ritualistic quality.

About the Artist
Formed in Trujillo, Peru, Ancestro are an instrumental trio whose music draws together stoner rock, heavy psych, doom, space rock and progressive influences. Boris Baltodano, Diego Cartulín and Jorge Quevedo build their sound around guitar, bass, drums, percussion and keyboards, with synths adding further colour to the band’s expansive instrumental approach. Ancestro was the band’s third release, originally issued in 2019.
