About the Release
Blaak Heat Shujaa is a sprawling blend of psychedelic and desert rock, built around fuzzed-out guitar, prominent bass, open-ended jams and laid-back grooves. Recorded in the Mojave Desert with Scott Reeder, the album captures a young Parisian trio absorbing the sounds and atmosphere of the American desert while adding their own Eastern-inflected touches. This 2020 remastered 10-year anniversary edition was the album’s first vinyl pressing and includes the previously unreleased “Montaña de Oro” demo.

About the Artist
Originally formed in Paris, Blaak Heat Shujaa were a three-piece comprising Thomas Bellier, Antoine Morel-Vulliez and Timothée Gacon when this album was recorded in 2010. The band later shortened their name to Blaak Heat and evolved through several lineups, releasing further records and touring extensively in Europe and the US before entering a partial hiatus in 2018.
