About the Release
Familia de Lobos is the self-titled debut album from the Buenos Aires, Argentina band. Originally released in 2017, the album was subsequently issued on vinyl by Riot Season Records in 2018 and has since become a notable release within the Latin American heavy-psych scene. Combining heavy psychedelic rock, stoner rock and desert rock with folk influences and pre-Columbian instrumentation, the album creates a dense, hypnotic sound built from fuzzed guitars, earthy percussion, droning bass and chant-like vocals.
Recorded during 2016 and 2017, the album moves between expansive psychedelic passages and more rhythmic, groove-driven compositions, with Spanish-language vocals adding to its distinctive South American character. Tracks such as “Todo lo Que Brilla”, “Sangría” and “Mi Amor Salvaje” capture the band’s blend of heavy riffs, atmospheric textures and a strong sense of place.

Formed in Buenos Aires in 2016, Familia de Lobos are an Argentine psychedelic rock band whose music draws together heavy psych, stoner rock, desert rock, folk and traditional South American instrumentation. Combining amplified guitars, traditional percussion and atmospheric textures, the band developed a dense, hypnotic and mantric sound, while their lyrics and visual identity explore connections between people, nature and the spiritual world, giving their music a strong sense of place and cultural identity.
